"Everybody needs a little help sometimes. If it's getting harder to manage, you may be able to get the extra care and support you need through social care."

Welcome

Avican Support Ltd specialises in supporting individuals living with learning disabilities, autism or mental difficulties to live a functional life of choice. We were rated as 'Good' by the CQC in our last inspection. This was achieved through our clear dedication to caring, changing attitudes towards people with learning disabilities, and striving to transform lives through positive examples. Our goals are driven by these outcomes which we always hope to achieve for the people in our care, as well as our continuous engagement with their families and friends at all times.

Supported living services

Supported living is used to describe a situation where you have help in living independently at home. This living arrangement varies from one individual to another. In most cases, it may be described as living alone in your own property with support from your staff. In other cases, it may be that you are living with others in shared accommodation.

Active inclusion

We encourage an active and inclusive experience for all individuals we support. We believe in ensuring our principles of caring reflect our beliefs in compassion, dignity, respect and partnership with the individuals we support, their family and our staff.

  • Our vision is to create a community with equal access and meaningful involvement for all individuals within our care.

  • Our mission is to ensure that people within our care are not limited by their diagnosis but supported with opportunities to live life to the full.

  • Our process is to encourage individualised inclusion in setting up a home, access education or employment, and facilitate daily activities for well-being.

Person-centred support

Our support provision is based on individual needs. Most daily needs may only require a few hours of support while others may require longer hours of support.

Areas of support

Common areas of support include:

  • Assistance with mainitaining your tenancy, cooking and more

  • Support with shopping and finance

  • Medication assistance

  • Support with finding gainful employment or education

  • Accessing community opportunities

Funding

Funding your services is based on individual needs. While we engage with people who self-fund their own care package, in most cases, the funding local authority will usually decide if you're eligible for these services, or for home carers, or a personal assistant.

Eligibility

We work in conjunction with a local housing provider in finding a property people can call their own. Our services are provided within these homes with a goal of moving people on to be as independent as possible with a view to either maintaining their current level of support or reducing it as their independence increases.

Our services are available to any individual aged 17 or above with a learning disability, autism or mental health difficulty who requires housing and support within either a single or group living environment. In specific cases where we have the available resources, we may also be able to provide support within your privately owned or rented property. Please call us to discuss any specific requirements.
